The Schwarzenberg Tomb

The Schwarzenberg Tomb is the family tomb of the Schwarzenbergs in Třeboň, located near the park southeast of Svět Pond, less than 2 km from Masaryk Square in Třeboň. It is one of the most visited landmarks in Třeboň. Beautiful concerts are held here during the summer months (and occasionally in winter).

The mausoleum was built in the style of the Italian Campo Santa. It is a two-story building in the shape of a regular hexagon, featuring a beautiful staircase in the Neo-Gothic style. The staircase leads to the entrance of the Chapel of the Divine Redeemer. Beneath the chapel’s entrance lies the entrance to the mausoleum.

The tomb itself is located below the water level of Svět Pond, which is why there is an air duct around it that is 60 cm wide and 2 m deep. In accordance with regulations of the time, it has its own entrance, small opaque windows, and internal air circulation.

Not far from the "castle" park (approx. 500 m) is the well-known Ostende natural swimming area, where you’ll find, for example, a volleyball court, ping-pong tables, and Russian skittles. Children can enjoy the carousel, trampoline, and playground.

On a clear day, you can see all the way to us, the Dvorce guesthouse, from the shores of the swimming area.
