Baroque Gems of the Třeboň Region by Bike
You can set out from here on a bike to explore the Baroque beauty of the Třeboň region. On the route Dvorce – Třeboň – Kojákovice – Hrachoviště – Majdalena – Kosky – Hamr – Chlum u Třeboně – Stříbřec – Stará Hlína – Třeboň – Dvorce, which is about 55 km long and winds through the pleasantly flat South Bohemian countryside, you’ll see many beautiful sights, not just Baroque monuments. In the village of Kojákovice, you will find a village heritage zone featuring the Chapel of St. George in the rural Baroque style. Further along the route, you can admire the Baroque chateau in Chlum u Třeboně, from which the heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand d’Este, set out on his fateful journey. The village is dominated by the late Baroque pilgrimage church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
One of the oldest villages in the Třeboň region is Lutová, home to the Baroque Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. In the village of Stříbřec, you will still find several farmhouses built in the rustic Baroque style, which were returned to their owners after the communist era. Along the way, you will also pass Krčín’s Oak and the Branské Doubí natural monument.
